A 28-year-old Westchester man was killed after being ejected from a van in a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike last week, authorities said.
A Ford van heading north on the Turnpike when it lost directional control, struck the left guardrail, and overturned in the outer roadway near milepost 75.5 in South Brunswick Township at approximately 8:11 p.m. on Friday, May 22, Detective Sgt. Caitlin Brennan said.
Juan Ramirez Mejia, 28, of Yonkers, was riding in the front passenger seat when he was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, police said. He died as a result of the crash.

A Long Island man was killed after crashing his motorcycle into an SUV and being thrown from the bike on Friday evening, May 22, police said.
Anees Khan, 38, of Huntington, was riding a 2023 Ducati motorcycle southbound on Round Swamp Road near Hilltop Drive in Melville, around 6:45 p.m. when he attempted to pass a 2022 Kia Seltos traveling in the same direction, according to Suffolk County police.
Khan struck the Kia’s right rear bumper, causing him to lose control and be thrown from the motorcycle, police said. The Ducati caught fire after the crash.

A vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a pedestrian walking on a sidewalk in Watervliet Thursday night, police announced.
The crash happened near the intersection of 19th Street and 4th Avenue around 9 p.m. on Friday, May 8, according to Watervliet police.
Investigators determined the vehicle left the roadway before crashing into a tree, a street sign, and a pedestrian before coming to a stop, authorities said.

A pickup truck driver was killed on Wednesday night, May 6, after he went off the road and crashed into the front of a Connecticut house, authorities said.
Matthew James Sherman, 42, of Foster, Rhode Island, was identified as the driver killed when his truck crashed into the Killingly home at 1356 Hartford Pike, Connecticut State Police said.
